The Offshoot Apprentice Program has met with great success over the years. It is an exciting opportunity for community members to not only star in a play of their own, but to work side-by-side with professional actors and other theatre practitioners.
Apprentices range from theatre newcomers to pre-professionals who desire more experience. Apprentice applicants should be 16 or older, although a younger apprentice may be accepted into the program upon approval.
Apprentices take acting workshops, receive hands-on training in technical theatre, enjoy performance opportunities, and are mentored by the professional cast and staff.
Apprentices have performed such works as:
Dorothy & the Wizard of Oz
You're a Good Man Charlie Brown
Story Theater
How to Eat Like a Child and Other Lessons in Not being a Grown-up
Alice Through the Looking Glass,
Charlotte's Web
The Tolstoy Story Play
The King Stag
Clowns Play
The Blue Light and Other Stories and
Tale of Sleeping Beauty
Every play has been a wonderful experience of fun and learning for our apprentice actors, several of whom have gone on to act professionally in Atlanta and beyond!
Applicants should fill out an application form and return it to Offshoot Productions prior to their audition/interview. Those seeking technical theatre apprenticeships need not audition, but the interview is mandatory for all applicants.
